FÉROCES Festival de Photographie Internationale 2011

I thought i had better quickly post this before it was too late! After having a major stress out where my work almost didn’t arrive, I am pleased to say that one of my images is currently being shown in the FÉROCES Festival de Photographie Internationale 2011 in Lyon, France. It is a pleasure to be invited alongside so many other artists who’s work I admire. If you are able to go here is some information :

FÉROCES Festival de Photographie Internationale 2011 is an overview of selected International Photography today.

It was born of a common desire among artists, photographers and curators to showcase to a broad public most creative contemporary aspects, and its most prominent authors, present and becoming.

20 international artists photographers: americans, asians, and europeans will be presented from 14 to 31 December 2011 in Lyon.

The two main promoters of the event, Charles BONJOUR & Manuel Javier RICHY gather here the strong, sensitive, and relevant artworks whose only the web interface allows a glimpse at.

I am pleased to say that next month i will be participating in OFFO 2011, the 4th edition of the Polish Festival of Pinhole Photography. It was lovely to be invited again after exhibiting in OFFO 2009.

I will be presenting a new and unseen body of work from my ‘Muse’ series at the Galeria Obiektywna in Radlin (opens  Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m)

The festival takes place in Upper Silesia and runs from 3 November 2011 until the 29th November 2011. More details can be found here on their website.

Diffusion Vol III, 2011

Earlier this year I mentioned that some of my work was selected as Best in Show in Plates to Pixels’ 4th Annual Juried Exhibition. Well my prize was to be published in Diffusion, a brilliant magazine dedicated to unconventional photography. So here it is, Volume III!

A Nod to Cage

What Cannot Be Seen

What Cannot Be Seen

Starting from tomorrow one of my photos is going to be on display in the De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill. Taken as a contribution to Lucy Phillips’ What Cannot Be Seen project, her exhibition will be shown during the De La Warr’s Nod to Cage season. If you get the chance then do go over and take a look, I have been informed that my photo is going to big!

some more details about the exhibition below:

19 May – 5 June / Friday 27 May (Random Friday)
Lucy Phillips what cannot be seen
Ongoing project (started 2010)
Inkjet prints from scanned photographic paper negatives, handwritten and typed texts, printouts of emails. (in display cases) original paper negatives, handmade matchbox pinhole cameras, handwritten and typed texts and letters, related ephemera.

what cannot be seen is an attempt to create a visual and textual archive of the unseen by returning to the fundamentals of photographic image making. Inspired by the artist’s own experiments with pinhole photography and French artist Sophie Calle’s use of the camera as a covert device, Phillips constructed 20 pinhole cameras from matchboxes and invited people to take part in a postal photography project via a Facebook status update. See Lucy Phillips’ what cannot be seen at the next Random Friday on 27 May

The Robot Heart

The Robot Heart

The Robot Heart

The Robot Heart have just released their first album, self titled: The Robot Heart, on Bleeding Heart Recordings. This lovely piece of packaging features my photographs on both the cover as well as on the inside.

The first time i saw the Robot Heart perform a few years ago, i had just received the sad news that a couple of friends of mine had died earlier that day in a tragic accident. That gig was particularly powerful to me, as their haunting melodies and 4-part harmonies strongly resonated with the way i was feeling. So i was pleased when I was later asked to do a photoshoot with them, the results of which can be seen here

Their album is available to buy from the Record Store who are also offering limited numbers of signed copies with a free EP.

Good luck Robots! I wish you guys all the success with the album xxx
